Pentalobe Screws:
Before disassembling your iPhone, you can discharge the battery below the 25%. Because, the lithium charged battery can catch the fire or explode, if accidentally punctured.
The user powers off the device before beginning the disassembling.
Remove the two 3.4mm pentalobe screws on either side of the lightning port.
Taping over the display:
If your iPhone screen is cracked, and prevent from the body harm during the repair taping over the glass
You can lay overlapping strip of the clear packing over the iPhone display, until the whole face is covered
Warning:
You can wear the safety glasses to protect your eyes, and glass shaken when you are repairing.
The repairer can also use the suction cup to remove the broken glass. Try to use the strong piece of tape ( use the duct tape) into the handle and lift the display with it.
Opening procedure:
You can apply the mild heat on the lower edge of the iPhone and use an iOpener and hair dryer for about a minute.
Heat helps to soften the adhesive to secure the display and it becomes easier to open.
Suction Cup:
Open the display on the iPhone 6S plus, it separates the strip of the adhesive around the perimeter of the display. if you prefer to replace the adhesive, and a set of the new adhesive strips. It is impossible to complete the repair without replacing the adhesive. You would not notice any difference in the functionality
You can apply the suction cup on the lower left corner re of the display assembly.
If your display is badly cracked, cover it with a layer of a clear packing tape. It allows the suction cup to adhere. It is very strong tape used instead of the suction cup. It works as a superglue and the suction cup to pick the broken screen.
How to use Suction Cup:
You can pull up the suction cup with firm and constant pressure to create a slight gap, between the front panel and rear case.
Note: if you pull so hard, it will damage the screen, you can apply enough pressure to create a small gap between the display assembly and the rear case.
The safest place to pry from the notch in the front panel above the headphone jack, and maintain the pressure on the suction cup. You can insert the flat tip of the spudger into the gap and directly on the headphone jack.
Twist the spudger and make a gap between the front panel and rear case
Firmly pull up the suction cup to remove it from the display.
Gently hold the display assembly and lift it up to open the phone, you can use the clips at the top of the front panel as a hinge.
The display can open about 90 degrees and lean it against something it propped up, while you are working on the phone. you don’t need to open the display more than 90. It is still connected at the top of the phone by the display, digitizer and the front cameras cables, which can tear easily.
Add a rubber band to keep the display at the secure place, while you are working. It does not put strain on the display cables. You can use an unopened canned beverage to support the display.
Battery connector:
Remove the screw to secure the battery and the connector bracket to the logic board of the following lengths.
One 2.9mm screw
One 2.3mm screw
You must keep track of the screw, installing the screw at the wrong place becomes the cause of permanent damage.
Remove the battery connector bracket.
Use spudger
You can use the spudger or the clean fingernail to disconnect the battery connector and pry its bend straight up on the logic board.
Bend the connector back and ensure it, it does not make contact and power the iPhone, while you are working on it.
Display Assembly:
You can remove the following Philips screw
Three 1.3 mm screws
One 1.6 mm screw
One 3.0 mm screw
It is critical to place the 3.0mm screw at the top right corner of the bracket, you can place anywhere else. It may damage the logic board.
You can remove the display cable bracket.
You will be careful pry up on the connector and not the socket on the logic board.
You can use the plastic opening tool to disconnect the front facing camera and sensor cable connector, when you are reconnecting the digitizers, do not press the center of the connector. You can press end of the connector and press the opposite end. You can press center of the connector. It can bend the component and cause the digitizer damage.
You can make sure that battery is disconnected, when you disconnect and reconnect the cable.
You can disconnect the home button, cable of fingerprint. The cable can prying it straight on the socket on the logic board.
You can remove the display assembly
When you are doing the assembly, you can replace the adhesive around the edges of the display.
Home button assembly:
You can remove 1.9mm Phillips screw, to secure the home button bracket, and remove the home button bracket.
You can use the pointed tip of a spudger to disconnect the home button cable, from its connector on the display assembly.
The rubber gasket surrounding the home button is very thin and tears easily.
Apply mild heat (with an iOpener, heat gun, or hair dryer) to soften the adhesive securing the home button gasket.
Using your fingertip, gently press up on the home button from the front side of the display assembly. Use firm, constant pressure to slowly separate the home button's rubber gasket from the front panel.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to pry the lightly-adhered home button flex cable off the display assembly.
Remove the home button assembly.
